Here’s another real-world success story from my 12 week fat loss programme tester group which I hope will inspire you whatever fat loss plan you’re following. If you’ve just stumbled across this post you can read some background over on my website and you’ll find more inspiring weight loss stories, with photos and advice from members of my pilot programme group here.
42-year-old Shelley is a super-busy mum with three young children and a high-pressure job where she works 11-hour shifts, four days per week.
Shelley has always been quite active, but in the ten years since her first child was the born her weight crept up to 58kg and Shelly become increasingly unhappy about the condition of her body. The most frustrating thing for her was that despite trying lots of different diet and exercise programmes the fat just wouldn’t shift.
However, after just 12 weeks following my programme, Shelley shed over five kilograms and dramatically changed her shape as her Before and After photos show.
Shelley is a good example of why I don’t like to focus on weight loss. Her shape has changed much more than the scales reveal. This is because she has sculpted her figure by gaining muscle at the same time as shedding fat. (I talk more about this concept in this post.) Not only does she now have a flat belly, but check out those lovely toned arms and legs!
Shelley says:
“I only wish I had known Julia 10 years ago post-babies. All those years of looking like a beached whale on holiday in swimwear! I’ve tried regular fitness classes, BMF, joining gyms, using PowerPlate, Insanity workout DVDs and more, but this programme is the most effective form of exercise I’ve ever done.”
The flexibility of the programme and the ability to do all the workouts at home was a major plus for Shelley, who can often only find to exercise early in the morning before getting her children ready for school.
Shelley says:
“Anyone who gets the opportunity to take part in this programme should grab it with both hands!
“You need to have a clear goal and determined mindset, but anyone can do it and it is much cheaper and easier to fit into a busy life than personal training or gym sessions. Sometimes I struggled with the early mornings, but I noticed changes in body quite quickly – which really helped to keep driving forward. I have loved every minute.”

In tomorrow’s post I’ll talk more about the difference between weight loss and fat loss and why it’s wise to monitor progress in other ways and set non-weight goals. (Now published here.)
Full details on the programme will not be available publicly until the book is published in January 2014. However, I will be taking on a small group of fat loss fitness clients during January 2013 for online coaching similar to the pilot programme. Please visit my website if you’d like more details.
